Eating For Eye Health Relaunched
Macular Disease Foundation Australia Patron, Ita Buttrose wants Australians over 50 to eat for their eye health.
With the relaunch of her popular Eating for Eye Health – The Macular Degeneration Cookbook, co-authored with chef Vanessa Jones, Ita is excited about the opportunity that Eating for Eye Health gives to raising awareness of macular degeneration.
“Since becoming Patron of the Macular Disease Foundation Australia in 2005 I have become aware of how widespread the disease is and how much ignorance about it exists in our community,” says Ita.
“It’s odd really because so many people suffer from it - millions in fact - yet many people simply take their eye health for granted. I have made it my mission to tell people about macular degeneration and encourage them to have regular eye checks and adopt an eye friendly diet and lifestyle.”
A well balanced diet with plenty of eye friendly foods, along with a little exercise and a healthy lifestyle, can help keep eyes healthy1.
Eating for Eye Health is loaded with delicious recipes made up of the foods we should be eating to keep our eyes in tip top condition. The book features more than 90 recipes, carefully selected to make it easy to prepare delicious, nutritious meals that are good for eye health.
