
AGM and Office Launch
The Macular Degeneration Foundation's Annual General Meeting (AGM) 2011 was held on Tuesday 13 December 2011 at the Foundation's new Sydney office.
Foundation Chairman Elizabeth Carr welcomed the 80 attendees, which included board members, volunteers, supporters, sponsors, members of the macular degeneration community and staff.
Ms Carr highlighted the achievements of Foundation over the 2010-2011 financial year, making particular note of Foundation's celebration of its one-decade anniversary and the launch of the Macular Degeneration Foundation Research Grants program.
At the conclusion of the Annual General Meeting CEO Julie Heraghty invited Jean Morton and her husband Des, long term Friends of the Foundation, to officially open the new Kent Street office with the unveiling of a commemorate plaque.
As part of the celebrations Foundation volunteers were acknowledge for their invaluable support throughout the year and guests were invited to trial the new low vision aids and technology display.
The AGM and office launch enabled the Foundation to say thank you to all supporters, volunteers, donors, corporate sponsors, health care professionals, and governments for their generosity of spirit and for being part of the Foundation's wonderful journey.
