Welcome to our final Vision Voice newsletter for the year.

This is our annual research focused edition. In it you will find information about new macular disease treatments, geographic atrophy and innovations being explored to treat, preserve or improve sight.

We are pleased to announce that we this month launched a new MDFA Research Impact Report. The report showcases the work and impact of the talented researchers we have invested in through our Research Grants Program. MDFA’s National Research Advisor, Paul Mitchell AO, wrote the foreword, which you can read an abridged version of in this newsletter.

If you’re interested in the latest macular disease research, then perhaps volunteering on our Community Review Panel could be for you? Details about the panel’s value to our research funding decisions and how to find out more about joining are available inside.

Also featured is a story about the overwhelmingly positive response we have received from the people participating in our new Eye Connect service. We encourage you to get in contact with us if you’d like to sign-up to the service or receive more information.

In this edition we preview our advocacy activities in 2025, and we share a story about our collaboration with Sight For All to educate regional and Aboriginal communities in South Australia and New South Wales about diabetic eye disease.

You can download the newsletter below, or order a printed copy to be sent to you in the mail.
